I think this is a great mix. It’s really frustrating that there’s no playlist, because I want to purchase some of the songs. I especially want to know what the track that starts at 38:07 is. I love the mixture of Indian vocals with African jazz beats. If anyone’s reading this and knows, please inform me!

The track that starts at 0:57:33 is “America (feat. Mos Def & Chali 2na)” by K’naan, from the album Troubadour.

The track that starts at 0:50:34 sounds like Fela Anikulapo Kuti, but I don’t know the name. It definitely sounds afrobeat.

The track that starts at 1:02:17 is called “Tuareg” by Gal Costa in an album called Gal Costa (Cinema Olympia) or sometimes called Gal Costa (1969). Classic tropicalia.

I’m pretty sure the second to last track is an early (sometime pre-1971, before he was exiled) Caetano Veloso, but I’ve never heard it before.

I’m pretty certain the vocalist in the last track is Damon Albarn, singer from Gorillaz and Blur. It sounds very similar to “El Manana” from the Gorillaz album Demon Days, but I cannot find the song title, or if he collaborated with another artist.

Probably most informed listeners of Gilles Peterson already know this, but I
hope that it helps some people.
