Can you tell us a little bit about yourself please. Who are you, where are you from etc?

My name is Reginald Omas Mamode, I am a fragment of fallout matter created by our star’s surface solar storms. Earth is my home and I currently reside in Peckham, South London where I create music.

How would you describe your music?

This question gets me. Earthbound heart and soul music. For good peoples.

Where do you draw your inspiration?

I’m inspired by life. By living amongst humanity; the good and terrible aspects. From Everyday people and also the not so everyday People. Through conversation, from love, listening to good music, clapping your hands and stomping your feet.

Whom do you count amongst your most significant influences when it comes to production?

There is much music I could mention that’s had an influence on me. The
links in the chain of sound goes all over and back again.. I could start by saying united states soul, blues, jazz, funk has played a huge part.. Music of my roots has influenced.. But to mention one sole, timeless sound; James Dewitt Yancey.

What releases / gigs are out there or coming soon?

I’ve been fortunate to have had some label interest. I’ve recently met some good people, who want to release my music. So I have a debut EP thats set to drop on Five Easy Pieces in mid-October. It includes ‘Do You?’ and five other songs. I create a lot of music and the guys at the label want to release more after this first EP, so I think I’ll have another EP out in early 2014. I’m working on a live show, so hopefully there will also be some gigs coming soon.

Do you have a current DJ mix or any tracks that are available for free download right now that we could point folks to?

There’s nothing official out there right now. But I’m planning to put together a few mixes leading up to and coinciding with the EP so you’ll get to hear something very soon! There will be some digital free give away tracks. One of them a Roy Ayers cover, a song I’ve loved for a long time, which has been included on the vinyl release.

Where can folks go online to check out you and your music?

I’m terrible with the self promo thing. I have no facebook, soundcloud, no twitter. Which is unusual nowadays, I know. But I’ve never done it and have not really got a desire to. Keep an eye on Five Easy Pieces on facebook and soundcloud. Their website is five-easy-pieces.com.

What are you going to do after this interview?

Sleep, its late now! Peace and love to all.
