Straight, No Chaser

January 21, 2009

Elan Mehler here, thought I’d drop some music we recorded in the Blaue Hall in Switzerland, where I first met Gilles Peterson. The real straight ahead thing, featuring Max Goldman on Drums and Tod Hedrick on Bass, The standard When I Fall in Love by Victor young, Thelonious Monk’s Bemsha Swing and an old Gospel tune, Yes Indeed by Sy Oliver.  Also check out, Gilles’ Myspace page to hear “54th Leap” from the new album coming out March 16th.  Also, on my myspace page you can hear “I Want to Leave You” featuring Adam Mcbride-Smith, also set to come out on the new album.
