Worldwide Awards 2014 / / New Acts Announced

November 7, 2013

We’re returning to KOKO on Saturday 18th January 2014 for a night of very special live performances, DJ sets and one-off collaborations from both new and heritage artists championed by Gilles throughout the year.

>>TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW<<

// JIMI TENOR

Jimi Tenor is a musician’s musician – a progressive jazz artist who dabbles in the experimental and avant-garde with a career spanning over 20 years. Hailing from Finland, Jimi has released numerous albums on Warp Records and has collaborated with Tony Allen. He is known as a productive musician whose work lies beyond current trends, and also as a performer who combines the finest elements of afro-american music, spontaneous silliness and shameless glamour in a unique way. A true original!

// ADY SULEIMAN

Ady Suleiman shone at a special BBC Introducing session at the legendary Maida Vale Studios earlier this year, marking himself as a glowing prospect for British music. Soulful brilliance courses through his veins and his acoustic set at the Worldwide Festival in July was one of the unexpected highlights of a week packed with talent from around the globe.

// SWINDLE featuring TERRI WALKER

Playing sets that consist mainly of his own music, Swindle always leaves an individual stamp on ravers with his unique brand of Jazz-leaning, Funk-laden Grime and Dubstep. Hailing from South London, Swindle took a keen interest in music at a young age. Taking influence from Jazz, Reggae and Soul artists (including Miles Davis, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder), in short, he is quite simply one of dance music’s most uniquely talented young artists and is joined by the brilliant Terri Walker.
