WWA 2016 // Introducing: Deft

November 25, 2015

As we continue to gear up for the Worldwide Awards on the 16th January, we’ve put together another intro profile to help y’all get a handle on the many bright and shining talents who are populating this year’s bill. You can buy tickets now at the final release price of £35.

Our next act to be profiled is genre-hopping producer Deft, whose releases draw on hip hop, house, jungle and have a particular affinity to Chicago footwork. He featured on the last Brownswood Electric compilation, is a well-established member of the WotNot family and has received support from the likes of Mark Pritchard and DJ Shadow.

Where in the world…

…are you now?

On my sofa at home in Hackney, London

…inspires you?

People, experience and emotional response, surroundings, sound with film/visuals

…have you done your best performance?

Gosh… I’d say the first run of shows in Japan

…has the best food?

Japan! Hands down

…do you go to escape?

Into my headphones

…do you most want to go?

Brazil or Argentina

…has the best music right now?

N… T… S-S-S-S-S-S…

And finally, how many languages can you say hello in?

Four? Four.

And can you prove it?

Probably.

The Awards are at KOKO in London on Saturday 16th Januart. Buy tickets now for £35
