YETI-ENK: Mighty Moe Vs. Royal-T

July 4, 2011

Music blog Yeti In the Basement are collaborating with art and skate collective ENK for a night that’ll bridges gaps in the ever evolving UK bass/ 2step scene, as the founding father of old school garage goes b2b with today’s UKG young gun. The legendary Mighty Moe from Heartless Crew will go head to head with the scenes freshest face Royal-T, whom stands behind the exciting grime/garage imprint Butterz.

The vibe is set to be booming with Moes distinctive flow over T’s pristine garage production. Expect a night of quality skanking, as energetic basslines are joined by old school garage euphoria at the characteristic retro 90′s basement of Dalston’s Visions Video Bar.

Mighty Moe aka Metric Moses is a veteran and pioneer of the UK underground. Originally a Hip Hop DJ, he joined the renowned Heartless Crew as a teenager and developed his uniquely vibrant, catchy and intelligent style that made him into the living garage legend he is today. It goes without saying that Moe has influenced and inspired so many of today’s modern artists.

Grime hasn’t seen this amount of hype in a long time. The rebirth of the rave is rightly due to Southampton based producer, Royal T and Rinse DJ’s and Butterz label founders, Elijah and Skilliam. A heavy focus on them golden year vibes, T’s “hyped-up-funk-infused” grime beats are on point. UKG fan or not, you’ll still find yourself skanking away. With an army of hefty remixes for the likes Katy B, Yasmin, Terror Danjah, TRC and Wiley, T’s approach to music has certainly got the entire scene gagging for more.
