Kutmah Selects // Tadd Mullinix

April 16, 2012

Tadd Mullinix is the name of the multi-alias producer Dabrye, who explores hip-hop with head-nodding beats and saw-tooth bass lines, with a keen eye to forward-thinking production and rhythms. Dabrye has earned considerable praise from both the hip-hop underground (Jay Dee, Jurassic 5) with his sinister analog sounds and heady beats.

I was born in Michigan, spent 6 years of my childhood near the Gulf Of Mexico in Florida, and later, resided in the Metro-Detroit area. I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2000 and have lived here ever since. I make music of a wide variety. I am most known for making Jungle, Hip Hop, Techno, House, and Avant-garde  Electronica.

I am influenced by many kinds of music but most of them are not of the pop variety

I plan to make a Dabrye LP, provide hip hop beats for my favorite MCs, return to making more ragga-jungle, and continue my efforts in Acid House, House, and Detroit-Techno.

Tadd Mullinix’s track ‘Exchanging Modes’ features on Worldwide Family Volume 2
