Steve Reid Foundation // Hector Plimmer Remixes Emanative
December 3, 2015
Following Nick Woodmansey aka Emanative’s The Light Years of the Darkness album which was the first release to come out on the Steve Reid Foundation, we have a hypnotic rework from Hector Plimmer that takes the meditative drift of the original and loops it into a gloriously maze-like structure.
Hector is one of the artists who has been selected to be part of the Steve Reid Innovation Award. A joint project between the PRS and the Steve Reid Foundation set up by Brownswood and Gilles Peterson in memory of the legendary jazz drummer, the Innovation Award has provided grants and mentoring – from the likes of Four Tet, Floating Points and Emanative himself – to developing, unsigned artists.
Hector’s remix of Emanative’s ‘Om Supreme’ is pay what you feel on Bandcamp with all proceeds going to the Steve Reid Foundation, set up to help musicians in crisis and support emerging talent.
