Following on with our “way back when, World Wide Awards” theme, today well have a quick peek into 2007 and 2008′s high lights.

2007 saw a return to Shoreditch’s, Cargo with DJ sets from Karizma, 4Hero, Kirk Degiorgio, Simbad and an out standing live performance from the Beauty Rooms, winners that year as follows :

In 2008 someone came up with the clever idea of filming the awards (presumably so we could blog about it in years to come) check out the high lights here :

The awards featured artists like Tawiah, 2 Banks of 4, Shuya Okino’ s United Legends (from Tokyo), the then “hot new rapper from the States” Jay Electronica,classic jazz drummer Steve Reid, New York Jazz Blues vocalist Jose James, Christian Prommer’s Drumlesson and up and coming British jazz crew Portico Quartet, all playing live.

There were also exclusive DJ sets from Zed Bias, Benga, Phil Asher, Rednose District, Roland Appel and of course Gilles himself.
