WWA 2016 // Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals Announced
December 21, 2015
The goodness keeps on coming for this year’s eleventh edition of the Worldwide Awards. We’re excited to announce that Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals have now been added to a line up already heaving with talent. With a big role in Dr Dre’s Compton record giving his profile a shot in the arm, he’s now set to release his debut album, Malibu, in the new year. Like many who’ve graced the Worldwide stage at KOKO, this a man whose star is on the rise.
His name comes in addition to the winner of “Breakthrough Act of the Year” at last year’s awards, Little Simz, who’s set to deliver some North London hip-hop grit, Henry Wu presents: Yussef Kamaal, representing the 22a family out of Peckham with his exciting live trio show, “Yussef Kamaal”.
And most recently K amasi Washington was confirmed as very special guest and part of a specially curated “Super Band” with all round musical marvel Eska on MD duties and breakthrough jazz drummer of the moment, Moses Boyd with his solo project “Exodus” in the mix too. Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra, Leron Thomas and Deft add more weight to this impressive line-up.
The Awards are going down on the 16th January at North London’s KOKO. You can still buy tickets - get ‘em before they’re gone!
